1 From Dust to Dawn

Exhaling scents of flowers through ineffable delight,

The breath of blossoms drifts on wandering breeze,

Soft fragrance clasps the fickle hand of air,

Yet man inscribes on time his steadfast will,

Bound in frail flesh, yet sovereign of all,

 Molds the void with thought’s eternal forge,

Encased in clay lies his infinite spirit,

From stone of night he births the rosy dawn,

His fragile pulse beats on eternity’s shore,

Soul the witness keeps his ancient tale,

Breathing life into the breathless abyss,

A fire celestial burns within his breast,

From humble dust arises worlds anew,

He bears the weight of an eternal flame.

2 Spectacle of a Fallen Self

An inward fire devours the soul’s domain,

Its embers rise in silence and smoulder ,

Self stands exposed to each discerning gaze,

Like a figure cloaked in ignominy  beneath sky,

Once sacred dreams bear the mask of jest,

Mockery claps in courts where eyes still see,

Derision greets me on each corridor,

Breath labours under time’s unkind decree,

Despair hums hymns through hollowed scenes,

Desolation dwells in all that I survey,

Even wonder has withered into dismay,

Existence weighs like stone upon the chest,

Each moment mourns the death of inner rest,

As though fate tires of chronicled escape,

No shelter left where I might veil my face,

Hostility walks with smiles on every side,

What sin I bear remains, unseen,

Would one soul listen, glimpse my inner cry,

As silence spreads across my inner range,

Affliction stretches onward as reprieve drifts behind.

3.   Elegy of a Withering Essence

Existence transcribes itself in dialects of sorrow,

I dwell beneath time’s eroded, ancient strata,

One wave ascends then perishes in stillness,

All forms dissolve in dusk’s oblique design.

This path regresses to familiar desolations again,

The self succumbs to structured helpless repetition,

I could not hinder despair’s advancing tide,

Each surge negates volition’s silent discourse.

Temporal haze occludes the astral canopy,

Imagination fades,no archetype endures whole,

Life stages its scenes in fractured symmetry,

With devoid of telos, method, or interior logic.

No pulse conveys warmth through reasoned breath,

No ember remains in the hearth of mind,

Each dawn tolls a dirge of mute decline,

Where intellect dissolves and passion recedes.

Former sparks of sentience have extinguished,

Only vestiges persist in thought’s pale ruins,

A consciousness once pulsed with sacred longing,

Now stilled beneath abstraction’s cooling veil.

No cadence traverses the aether’s silent field,

No chroma blooms through the spectral void,

Who walks aligned with time’s entropic axis?

Even youth now wears the veil of mist.

That fervor once sanctified in inward ache,

Lies dormant, shorn of vision or intent,

O life, release me from this void,

Where sorrow reigns and being withers.

Some sentient heart must still remain,

Attuned to grief's epistemic resonance.

Mind endures in the ruins of cognition,

Its ache inscribed in conceptual ash.

Dr. Sajid Hussain, born on February 1, 1969, in Morgah, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, is a distinguished poet, educator, and advocate for literature. He holds memberships in global literary organizations and has received numerous accolades, including the Shahitya Pata Award and the Rabindranath Tagore Memorial Literary Honors. He has authored acclaimed works and contributed to international anthologies. A senior Chemistry teacher and Master Trainer in “Low Cost and No Cost Science Material,” Dr. Hussain is also a homeopathic doctor and former principal. His poetry, often focused on humanity and nature, is widely published and translated. Dr. Hussain is a committed advocate for global understanding, cultural exchange, and social justice, using his platform to inspire positive change and foster dialogue. Dr. Sajid Hussain is the author of several acclaimed books and has co-authored numerous international anthologies. His notable works include: Acquits of Life, Parlance, Cloud Nine Fantasia, Oceanic Upwelling, and Waves and Rays of the Life.
