POETIC DELIGHTS BY EWITH BAHAR-INDONESIA
1- A Dance Season
The scintillating colors
In blood lilies and dahlias
brighten the dull window
and lighten her mood
Spring opens a dance season for flowers and grass
she puts sugar on tea
and throws her sorrow away
on the flower petals
and painting brush
at her home before the window
she communicates with those beauties,
bring their soul
to enliven her gloomy walls
paintings are everywhere
dominate her house but emotionless
the sound of lyra and kithara from the gentle breeze
revive the life.
2-The Two Drunken Souls
My eyes are yours
Watching a deep cerulean
Turns slowly into obsidian
Charcoal shadow
heightens the mysterious beauty
when a satiny robe of night falls elegantly
blanketed you and me
dark…oh so dark, and our love glints
“Just like your eyes,” you said
Under the ebony sky
Nature shapes our silhouettes
As a unity of two souls
My hand lies on your chest
Gleaming by the moonlight
Sweet melody from your heartbeats
Softly caresses my fingers’ skin
A voice within is a rhythmic melody
of ecstatic feeling in silence
Like sacred poetry
How powerful a night, a touch,
and a serene lake in your eyes
Releasing, freeing, vitalizing
When the porcelain sky gets darker
The two souls get drunk.
3-Dream
In my palm I keep my dream
Mingled with reality and illusions
Nurturing them to be alive
in wildered competitions
In my twenty four hours
I create ways to change
the impossible
to enable them being visible
My faith convinces
They will punctually come
And I distinctly hear the voices.
