POETIC DELIGHTS BY HUMA SALEEM-PAKISTAN
When It Rains
When it
rains
I don’t find a roof.
I hold my
camera instead
The world
becomes slow.
Like it
remembered
How to
breath.
I walk towards
the garden.
Lens first.
Find the
leaves
That drink
without hesitation.
Every drop
accepted,
Nothing was rejected.
A wet leaf
Hold the sky
in its palm,
Small mirror
of the world.
Which is
visible to me
When it
rains
And mud ____
Oh mud______
Releases something
old,
A fragrance
with no name
In any
language I know
Yet feels
like home
This is my
peace.
No silence,
No
stillness,
Only rain on
leaves,
Mud in the
air,
And me
I see
quietly
That's how the
world looks like
When it's
finally in peace.
