POETIC DELIGHTS BY AREEBA SHOKAT-PAKISTAN
Whispers of the Silent Night
Night quietly descends so slow,
Like a memory settling deep below.
Moonlight gently spreads around,
And the world drifts off without a sound.
A silver glow on silent streams,
Carrying fragments of hidden dreams.
The breeze moves soft through waiting trees,
Whispering tales with gentle ease.
Stars seem to whisper through the sky,
Listening to secrets passing by.
Each flicker holds a story untold,
Of distant fires burning cold.
Shadows stretch on empty streets,
Where silence and stillness softly meet.
Time itself feels calm and light,
Lost in the arms of the quiet night.
A lonely bird calls far away,
Then fades into the darkened gray.
Echoes linger, soft and deep,
As restless thoughts begin to sleep.
This night holds a quiet, soothing art,
Softly calming a tired heart.
Wrapping worries, easing pain,
Like gentle drops of silent rain.
And in this peace, the soul can find,
A resting place for the weary mind.
For every fear that fades from sight,
Is healed beneath the velvet night.
