POETIC DELIGHT BY SONIA NAZ-PAKISTAN
What the Tree Understood
The sun burns me as I sits in its embrace
Walls shadow chills me too in its place
A restless heart grows tired of chasing love
Even each step drifts like a frightened dove
Me, my love and its tantrum afterwards
Found you nothing but a barren orchard
But a silent tree sways as if it know
Chaos of my heart, the ebb and flow
It gives me shade letting the soft sunlight remain
A quiet mercy easing both itching warmth and pain
You stay calm, distant and blind to my plight
A tree reads my heart, either heavy or light
What worth with this pride you can face
When a dumb tree can grab your place
What weighs the wealth your victory too
When soothing tree shade can replace you
A truth about my love I go revealing on you
Worshiped you not but my thought about you
Look! A naive heart keeps weaving dream anew
Forgetting all harms your indifference drew.
