POETIC DELIGHTS BY KUJTIM HAJDARI-ALBANIA

1-I SEARCH...

I search in this harsh city,

In this robotic city,

That communicates with me

Through codes and passwords,

In this glass city,

Silent and cold,

Where the sunset reflections of human

Faces mirror in the dusk.

I search...

Following the immigrants through a crowd,

Lost in their tumultuous stories,

I search for meaning,

Between life and the abstract,

In the spaces between the real and the unreal,

In the silence that screams,

In the revolt that silences.

I search for the consuming power,

I search and struggle for this robotized world,

To understand and trust in my immense power.

2-THE ROADS OF MY LIFE

I ran along paths that vanished over time.

Invisible, blind, and full of mysteries,

Deaf to my dreams that screamed,

And disappeared into darkness, into abysses and craters.

Sometimes fate called me down long roads,

To bite the days and years of my life like a cannibal,

To see the light, thirsty and unlucky, as it faded,

With my soul between my teeth, I kept hope alive.

The pain taught me to stand on my own,

To change myself, to rise each time I fall.

It taught me that happiness comes at a steep price,

It taught me to dream the most beautiful dreams.

Success also guided me to paths of light,

It lifted my butterflies of joy to dance in the air,

To feel and revel in all the beauties,

And luck often sat with me by the hearth.

Life embraced me with warmth,

It reminded me that I was still alive,

And I would rise like the stars,

And I cherished life as a precious gift.

I love all my paths, I remember them with longing,

Without them, I would be a broken-winged bird,

They taught me to reach for the heights of the sky,

And to cherish life as the most precious thing.

They taught me to grow old and mature as a person,

Whenever I turn my head, I feel proud,

To say, even when I’m gone, “This is how he was.”

The dearest epitaph I would want above my grave.

3-I TOLD YOU

I told you,

Do not listen to the world,

The world drives you crazy,

It puts even Satan* down.

Listen to your feelings,

To your heart,

When they speak to you.

People are like this,

Since we met them,

Since they desire and love,

To have what belongs to others,

To have power over others.

Satan – the supreme personification of evil,

the adversary of God and humanity.
