POETIC DELIGHTS BY AGRON SHELE-ALBANIA

1- Resurfaced Beauty

I read the eyes,

the yearning that returned with murmurs

far from any gaze

of a chaotic world

between the blind sight

and reappearing contours,

like the delirium of a pure soul unfettered and wild,

simply a tangle of disheveled hair,

a sea, longing for solace on a shore.

I had never seen a more enchanting sight than this,

nor fragility that shattered the moment,

magic that went beyond the ether,

melted into ashes,

then risen again in the fire that scorched the sky.

I took the eyes with me,

they shone brighter than an emerald,

a vast world,

a meeting of fates, drifting in parallel currents

in the contours of a board, glowing as a thousand petals

of pink roses,

and a candle weeping its flame

in the mad night, without light or flicker.

2- for Friedrich Nietzsche

The whip was cracking on the poor horse

because it lay there,

in his last agony it lay on the cobblestones

without light,

without knock

without a bridle in the wind,

simply,

with tears of sorrow that counted the years of slavery.

The only passerby hugged the horse tightly

he cried for it,

as if it were a child

the doctors of the whole world rolled their eyes

and wrote on the chart, a young madman!

The horse remained there for life

just a melodrama of the black alley

with the insidious lord who lost two cents,

and the superman who came from the years of eternity.

3- Parallel Lines

We read the palm of the hand

just as Delphi’s oracle did,

two parallel lines

and intertwining that never meet,

a map of bloodlines,

all in the sharp tips of the stars,

where a light waits to reawaken

and glow,

as it means to, with a hand raised in faith.

Fingers glide

in chords, according to the flavor of life,

somewhere a melody turns into a ballad,

and somewhere, in a melody, a sigh is sown.

Signs that must be read

in old destinies and ancient beliefs.
